What? 2010 National Survey of Student Engagement is asking PNC students to respond to tell us about their educational experiences

Why? NSSE responses are used by faculty and administrators to improve the educational experiences of students. By better understanding what students feel they have gained from their PNC education, we can pinpoint and address areas that need improvement, both in and out of the classroom. Data from the survey will allow PNC to compare the experiences our students to those of students at hundreds of other colleges and universities. We will also be able to compare the experiences of PNC students with those reported by PNC students in 2004. This data will be useful for assessment and accreditation purposes and more importantly it will help us better understand and serve our students.

Who? Freshmen and Seniors enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program are eligible to participate. Freshmen are defined as any student who had completed 30 hours or less as of October 2009 regardless of how many years they have been attending college.

When? Early February through April 2010 -- Initial invitations will be sent to students this week via their PNC email address. Students who missed or deleted the initial message can look for a reminder message on February 10.

How? Students will receive an email with instructions and the link for completing this online survey which will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. For your information, the initial invitation text is attached to this message. If students miss this initial email they will have a chance to participate via follow-up messages.
