As the year draws to a close, it is time to reexamine the activities of the Purdue North Central Student Government Association.

The Student Government recently concluded its lobbying efforts. The SGA had been lobbying the state General Assembly for state funding for the proposed Student Services and Activities Complex. While PNC will not know until after the end of the school year whether or not it received funding, the Student Government is pleased to announce that the funding is being debated in the General Assembly Conference Committee. This is the closest PNC has ever come to getting funding for an activities complex.

In addition, the Student Government began putting in place ideas they gained at February's SGA Conference in New York City. At the April Board of Trustees Meeting in West Lafayette, plans were nearly finalized for a Campus Consortium. This Consortium would meet once a semester and would include the Student Government Presidents from West Lafayette, North Central, and the other regional campuses as well as the Student Trustee. These leaders would be able to bring up issues that concern their campus and work to resolve them on a system-wide basis.

On April 16, the Student Government held its Presidential election. Aleah Turner, the 2008-2009 Secretary, was elected to be the President for the 2009-2010 school year. On April 21, the Student Government held elections for its remaining Executive Officer seats. The Executive Committee consists of Aleah Turner, President, Jacob Havner, Vice-President, David G. Myers, Treasurer, and Nick Mucha, Secretary. Student Government Representatives for the 2009-2010 school year are: Sean Casey, Taylor Coleman, Lyndsie Daikhi, Karissa Inglis, Kayla Mrozinske, and Emily Turner.
