BERLIN, Germany- The hottest known pepper on the planet happens to be a native of Nagaland, India. Known in Assam as the bhut jolokia, it is commonly referred to as the ghost chili here in America. On a scale of hotness, the ghost chili ranks in at 1,001,304 units on the Scoville scale. With Tabasco sauce rating only 2,500 units, 10 teenagers near Berlin decided to test their "manhood" by drinking a hot sauce that had a 535,000 unit rating. Though only midway to the bhut jolokia, the teens were still hospitalized for feeling ill.
